What is this book about? This book is about history of India starting from ancient times till 1940s. Though it is a broad subject, Nehru does a good job at it not missing any major beats of history overall. Till the time before British rule starts it majorly takes historical perspective but when talking of British rule, tone of the book is historical and also political rather than being only historical probably because the author is so deeply involved in the politics of the time. What are the positives? Nehru is very well informed of broad range of subjects such as art, history, politics, economics.
